| Hi all, I seem to have a problem with my Effects folder not remembering its settings. What I mean is, I will organize my effects into a custom folder structure, such as 'Reverbs,' 'Filters,' 'Choruses' etc. But when I close and reopen Studio One, it forgets all of my organization. My instruments panel seems to remember everything just fine. I've tried removing the 'studioeffects.settings' and 'pluginpresentation.settings' files, along with the 'Studio One.settings' files, but none of this seems to do the trick. I get the impression that whatever file that stores that info is corrupted or something and just needs to be reset, but have no idea where it is... Thanks in advance for any help on this matter! | You need to set the location for where the preset folder is. If you go to the main menu of Studio One, click 'Studio One' scroll down to 'Options', click on 'Location', then 'User Data' tab you'll see the field for where your Songs, Presets are stored when you save them. If you are using Studio One's native effects and instruments, you can access them from the browser below the instrument / effect. If you right click on the preset, you will see an option to open in explorer which will open the direct location for where the preset or presets are located. If you have saved presets of instruments and effects elsewhere, you can copy them over. If you are using any other VST instruments or effects, you can optionally create a separate Data folder for them and have the plugin's access the required data from that location, if the plugin allows, whilst keeping the actual VST instrument in the VST folder you've created. I have my user data folder set, but the problem isn't with storing presets (I don't think), it's with Studio One remembering the folders I create to organize my plugins. Here's an example of what I'm experiencing: 1. Open up Studio One and go to the Effects panel 2. I start organizing my plugins into folders that make more sense to me. You'll see I created 'Bit Crushers,' 'Amps,' 'Flangers' and moved appropriate plugins into those folders. 3. After I close and reopen Studio One, it reverts back to its original state. The Instruments panel doesn't behave this way for me, it allows me to organize at will and it remembers after I close and reopen Studio One. Hope this helps explain better. | Ok, I think I know what you mean now, the new folders you have created with inserted plugin's are not visible once you've restarted. I've tested this myself and I'm not having this issue in Studio One not remembering the how plugin's are configured in Effects. Are you sure you haven't created a folder within an existing folder and not moved that folder out to it's parent position so it's visible ? It's an easy thing to forget to move the folder out to be the parent if you had created a subfolder initially. Additionally, if you are creating folders and want them to be the parent from the outset, you should create them from the Recent section at the top where it shows the plugin's you recently used, so they retain their parent position in the plugin folder list.
